Columbus Business First is proud to unveil the 2019 honorees in our annual 40 Under 40 program.  It was another record turnout for our longest-running awards program, now in its 27th year recognizing emerging talent in our community. We received 378 nominations this year, making our job even harder to narrow down that incredible pool of excellence to just 40 honorees.  Check out the gallery for the 40 members of the 2019 class. Congratulate them on social media with the hashtag #Biz1st40u40.  The honorees will be highlighted in a special section published online and in the May 24 issue of Business First. An awards gala is scheduled for Thursday, May 23, at the Renaissance Columbus Westerville-Polaris Hotel. More information on tickets can be found here.  Go here for more on how we choose the honorees.

CSE’s own Dr. Arnab Nandi was selected as one of the 40 under 40 for the year. Nominated by College of Engineering’s Associate Dean for Research Dorota Grejner-Brzezinska stating: “Dr. Nandi personifies the new breed of leading‐edge faculty, technologists and entrepreneurs. His interests and energy extend beyond the important and traditional elements of teaching and research into entrepreneurship, community engagement, and economic development. Dr. Nandi teaches and coordinates the university’s graduate and undergraduate database systems class, a rapidly growing topic across several majors and colleges. … His work on data analytics wide has already impacted a wide variety of interdisciplinary domains, ranging from education, building next‐gen ebooks for iPads – to developing data tools that help medical doctors at the OSU Medical Center in antibiotics drug research. … In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Nandi has been instrumental to the city’s community outreach and tech entrepreneurship communities. He is co‐founder of both The Steam Factory and the OHI/O Hackathon program, which now have become a beacon of talent for researchers, students, and tech companies in Columbus, Ohio and nationwide, and a driver of workforce development in the region.”

Congratulations to Dr. Arnab Nandi on this honor!
